Ludwika Ogorzelec

Atlantyda 2, 2010
Cellophane, bamboo
variable dimensions

The artist Ludwika Ogorzelec continues with her global Space Crystallization Cycle within the pond of The Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden. Weaving a dream-like fantasy island out of industrial cellophane, she orchestrates a “shattering of space” through developing crystals of air. Inspired by the world of biology, machines and instruments”, Ludwika skillfully reorganizes the intangible out of sheer translucency and creative drive.

Ogorzelec has exhibited around the world, including in her native country of Poland, Canada, Belgium, all over Europe, Australia, South America, and the United States. She earned her Masters degree in sculpture from the Fine Arts Academy in Wroclaw, Poland and was the recipient of the Pollock/Krasner grant in 2000. She lives in Paris, France.
