Ursula Clark

Refuge, 2010
Wood, monofilament, fetishes
12’ x 5’ x 5’

Ursula Clark’s outdoor site specific installation within the exterior garden of West Martello is a simple shelter form composed of wood, mono filament and fetishes.  Natural elements of light, wind and sound influence the temporal space where “Refuge” resides, transforming into an environment within an environment; an ephemeral shrine to our ever-changing world.

Born in Germany, Clark is a founding member of the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, and the Art Under the Bridge annual sculpture exhibition in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
