Julia Handschuh

Julia Handschuh is offering the audience an opportunity--a chance to play, to hunt, to look carefully in this beautiful environment.  The artist released one hundred porcelain objects at Fort Zachary Taylor and invites the finder to share with her where and under what circumstances the objects were discovered.

She has documented the release and recovery on her website,  Handschuh is interested in the act of looking, listening and reflection.  Performance and viewer participation offer the artist a chance to manipulate and explore notions of time and intimacy.

Handschuh has a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, and an Associate‚Äôs Degree in Media Arts.  She has exhibited extensively in Massachusetts and beyond and received many grants and awards for her work.  She lives in Northampton, MA.
