By referencing the figure, whether explicitly or implicitly, Antuan’s work speaks to themes of humankind. He uses materials (vegetable fibers, sand, glass, dirt, toilets, food) to create volumes and environments that subvert the original meaning of daily things, converting the piece into a timely reflection of life’s problems. Cuban born, Antuan is an internationally renowned artist currently living in Miami, Florida.
