Julia Handschuh

Julia Handschuh is inspired by the human body’s connection to and impact on the natural world, particularly as this relates to production, construction and consumption of food, buildings and land. In “Unnatural Territory”, Julia introduces a new site for habitation in the age of depleted natural resources and the desire for more space. This installation invites reflection on the impacts of consumption.

Handschuh has a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, and an Associate’s Degree in Media Arts. She has exhibited extensively in Massachusetts and beyond and received many grants and awards for her work. She lives in Northampton, MA.
