At once funny and serious, Forcing Goodness references many things:  the Catholic Church, the history of halo imagery, crane accidents, rushing into war, forcing of a doctrine onto the unwilling.  Looking as though it has just been dropped from heaven, the halo retains its chains, ready to be lifted back up and forced over something else.

Mary Mihelic received her MFA from Parsons The New School For Design in New York City in 2006 and has been included in several exhibitions since then.  She divides her time between New York City and Chicago.
