Key West artist Anja Marais creates collages, assemblages
and sculptures that attempt to capture an innocence and simplicity
that is both mysterious and personal. Using found photos of
people, she evokes a nostalgic sense of the lost and lonely,
forgotten and gone. She writes, “lost illusions lurk
in the shadows of my childhood…I have tried to preserve
the world of soap bubbles, carousels, paper dolls and fables.”
