Seeing is not believing in Haden’s artwork. The Key
West artist tries to avoid many of the predeterminations that
shape so much of what we call culture. Using wood and traditional
techniques, he meticulously recreates things we throw away.
His tromp l’oeil bottles, boxes and jugs are complete
with dents, rust, dirt and decay. His duct tape is sublime.
By elevating these discards to art status, he subverts the
marketing influences of our everyday purchases and forces
the viewer to contemplate the illusion of the image.
