By referencing the figure, whether explicitly or implicitly,
Antuan’s work investigates an archaeology of the body
that speaks to crucial human philosophical issues. His materials
(vegetables, fibers, sand, glass, dirt, toilets, food, body
casts) create an environment that subverts the original meaning
of familiar objects, creating a timely and moving reflection
of life’s questions. Cuban-born, Antuan is an internationally
renowned artist living in Miami, Florida.
