Key West artist Lauren McAloon continues to awe viewers
with her site-specific sculptures that she installs in Fort
Zachary Taylor. Her pieces relate to the specific history
of this pre-civil war era fort. She writes, “I am
fascinated by 19th century technology. Firing cannonballs,
like skipping stones, across the waves for distances of
up to three miles, hitting their targets—ships vulnerable
waterline.”
